Edenton, North Carolina

This project addressed land use planning and streetscape development for all major roads coming into one of North Carolina’s most historic communities.  Land use planning addressed development expansion opportunities and constraints and conservation of agriculturally and environmentally important lands and waterways.  The streetscape aspect of the project addressed pedestrian and bicycle access, protection of existing street trees, expansion of street edge plantings, signage and lighting.  The work included significant effort to involve key stakeholders, government agencies and the public at large in defining and building consensus for proposed objectives.
